Cookie Policy
How we use cookies and local storage on our services.
Last updated: 2 April 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide a better user experience, and give site operators useful information.
In addition to cookies, we also use browser local storage and session storage, which serve similar purposes but are accessed differently by your browser. This policy covers all of these technologies.
2. Our Approach
We use a minimal set of cookies and storage. The majority serve strictly functional purposes: keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, or enabling core features of the platform. We also use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it.
We do not build advertising profiles. We do not share cookie data with any third party for marketing purposes.
3. Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of our Services. Without them, you would not be able to sign in, maintain your session, or use the client portal. Because they are essential, they cannot be disabled.
auth-tokenDuration: 30 daysStores your encrypted authentication session so you remain signed in as you navigate the portal. This cookie is HTTP only and cannot be read by client side scripts.
HTTP Only, Secure, SameSite Lax
admin-tokenDuration: 30 daysUsed exclusively during admin support sessions. When a Lemorange administrator temporarily accesses your account to provide technical support, this cookie preserves their original session. It is never present during normal use.
HTTP Only, Secure, SameSite Lax
portal-companyDuration: 1 yearRemembers which company account you have selected if you belong to multiple organisations. This ensures you see the correct projects, invoices, and data when you return.
Standard, SameSite Lax
4. Local Storage and Session Storage
In addition to cookies, we use your browser's local storage and session storage to save preferences and cache data locally on your device. These are not transmitted to our servers with each request like cookies are; they remain on your device and are read only by our website.
lemorange-dark-modeSaves your dark mode preference so the correct theme loads immediately on each visit without a flash of the wrong colour scheme.
portal-sidebar-collapsedRemembers whether you have collapsed the portal sidebar navigation for a more compact layout.
auth-userCaches basic profile information (name, email, role) during your current browser session to avoid redundant server requests. Automatically cleared when you close the browser tab or sign out.
search-recent-queriesStores your recent search queries in the portal search bar so you can quickly re-run previous searches. Limited to the 5 most recent queries.
5. Third Party Cookies
The following third party services may set cookies when you use our platform:
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics (GA4)We use Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our website. These services may set the following cookies:
- _ga — Distinguishes unique visitors. Duration: 2 years.
- _ga_<ID> — Maintains session state. Duration: 2 years.
- _gid — Distinguishes unique visitors. Duration: 24 hours.
- _gat — Throttles request rate. Duration: 1 minute.
Data collected includes pages visited, session duration, referral source, approximate geographic location (city level), device type, and browser. We do not enable Google Signals or advertising features. IP addresses are anonymised. This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy.
Stripe (Payment Processing)When you make a payment through our invoice system, Stripe's checkout interface may load in an embedded frame and set its own cookies for fraud detection, session management, and payment processing. These cookies are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies. Lemorange does not control or have access to Stripe's cookies.
We do not embed social media widgets or advertising network scripts.
6. Managing Cookies and Storage
You can control and manage cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete individual cookies and storage items.
- Block cookies from specific or all websites.
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set.
- Clear all cookies and site data when you close your browser.
Please note that if you block or delete our essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in to the client portal or use authenticated features of our Services. Your dark mode and sidebar preferences will also be lost if you clear local storage.
For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, refer to your browser's help documentation:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and Other Site Data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data

7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
